A Bolt-On Engine for Your Existing Tools

Works With What You Already Use

The Parable Engine is designed as a bolt-on that integrates seamlessly with pre-existing game engines. No need to abandon your current workflow or learn an entirely new toolset.

No Hardware Lock-In

Our on-device AI runs across phones, tablets, PCs and consoles. You're never locked into specific hardware or cloud infrastructure.

Your Data, Your Models

Collect your own data specific to your game and train your own AI models. You have complete control over every aspect of your AI pipeline - from data collection to deployment.

Why Authenticity Matters

Synthetic Data Makes Boring AI

Training on AI-generated content creates models that feel like "ChatGPT with a skin." Players notice. The magic is lost.

Feel the People Behind the Characters

Real human performance data preserves nuance, quirks, and emotional authenticity. Your players connect with real heart.

Total Control Over Your Dataset

No opaque training pipelines. You own your data, see what goes in, and control what comes out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are real actors involved?

Yes, they're pivotal to the whole system. Each one of our 13 unique characters in Millennium Whisper was trained by a real actor. We gathered data from them acting in character over multiple events, and used that data to train the AI. You end up talking to a performance, not a chatbot!

Do the actors get paid?

Of course! Our actors agreed to a contract where they get paid royalties for game sales. This means they benefit long term as the game succeeds, and by getting a copy you're supporting not only an indie developer, but also the actors themselves. We wanted to create a system where performers aren't replaced by AI, but instead are empowered by it.

How is this different from typical AI games?

Where most AI games use scraped internet data and run entirely in the cloud, Millennium Whisper uses all of our own data and stores/runs the AI locally on your device. We are the first on-device AI game on Steam. We have also lovingly crafted a livable world full of unique art and adventures instead of just having fully AI generated text or visuals.

Do you use AI for art, music or code? Does your AI replace human creativity?

Our AI is only used for character conversations and game mechanics. Everything else, all our artwork, music, code and writing, is completely man-made by our talented team!

What do we mean by "run locally"?

All of our AI models run directly on your own computer. This means no cloud processing, no data collection, and no online requirement. Your playthroughs are private and self-contained.

Does running locally make this better for the environment?

Yes! Cloud AI constantly consumes energy across data centres, whereas games with the Parable Engine avoids this by running smaller, specialised models locally. We have no server farms, no background processing, and no hidden energy costs.

How much energy did the AI training use?

Surprisingly little! The entire model training used single 4090 with the whole rig using 500w for two hours, meaning it only used 1kwh per iteration. We did a total of 10 iterations meaning that the entire game's AI development used only 450g of CO2.

What is the big idea behind the tech?

We want to show that there is a different, more ethical approach to AI in tech and gaming. Using the Parable Engine supports creators, rewards performers, respects the players and minimises the environmental impact.
