What is Millennium Whisper?
Millennium Whisper is a chaotic yet heartfelt AI dating sim set in 1999 at Escafeld College, and is built around a rumour that couples who confess at the turn of the millennium will be destined for a thousand-year romance. Players navigate relationships with 13 AI powered characters, each with their own personality, emotions, and behaviour, leading to a unique story every time based on your interactions.
What makes this different from other dating sims?
Each character runs on their own locally hosted AI model and responds uniquely to player dialog. All interactions affect affection levels, and characters remember how you treat them (and others!) throughout the game. They will each hold grudges, gossip, and respond dynamically, making every interaction and playthrough completely unique and unpredictable.
What is the main goal of the game?
Your objective is to manage relationships throughout the whole school year and ultimately see which character chooses you on New Year's Eve to be their Millennium Whisper.
Can characters interact with each other?
Yes. Characters can spread rumours about the player. They may try to sabotage your relationships with others, mess with your reputation in general, or just start some completely unhinged drama. This adds a social strategy element to the game. We're planning more in-depth character-to-character systems very soon.
What role do those rumours play?
Rumours are a core mechanic. They can be sweet, silly or sinister. They spread quickly and can significantly impact your relationships and reputation at Escafeld.
Does the game include a progression system?
Yes. The game includes an RPG-style stat system where you develop skills by choosing how to spend your time. These stats influence social success, story outcomes, and the characters you will meet.
